Alton: Alton Weekes is a boutique design studio that creates hand-crafted stationery (greeting cards, invitations, announcements, notes and all things paper) for specialty shops and museum gift stores.
MW: When did you start your greeting card company?
Alton: Alton Weekes opened its doors in May 2004.
MW: Why did you start it?
Alton: Alton Weekes was started to keep my mother's memory alive. As a child growing up, [she] often gave my sisters and me cards as a means to stay in touch with family and friends.
MW: What is your business's mission?
Alton: There are many, but the most important is to help people stay in touch by creating affordable luxury through paper products.
MW: What are some things you want to accomplish this year with Alton Weekes?
Alton: Our goal is to expand into major, high-end retail markets such as Barney's NY, Saks, Neiman Marcus and Bergdoff Goodman.
MW: Who and what inspires you?
Alton: Life inspires me; the beauty of earth and the creativity of everyday people push me to be excellent.
MW: What do you love most about owning a business?
Alton: I can see my dreams come to life and create without boundaries.
