Bio for Marcia Kee of Visions in Paradise Swimwear
As a third generation designer, Jamaican-born Marcia Kee has had creative blood flowing through her body since she was a child. As senior fashion designer of Visions in Paradise Swimwear, Kee creates work that conveys her vision with a blending of originality and creativity of fashions past and present.
Kee wanted to design swimwear because she felt the market lacked creative expression and felt she could deliver something unique and innovative. She found her niche and aspires to make a living doing what comes naturally.
The moniker, Visions in Paradise, sums up how Kee feels about the swimwear industry. Since its beginning, swimwear was just a typical, everyday look with slight variations; paradise is an escape or getaway from the norm, and that's what Kee wants to create with her pieces. Her designs give customers a tropical twist to enhance their inner beauty with her custom handcrafted limited edition designs.
Inspired by the movie Mahogany, Kee came up with a complete vision for her line and creates a story for each piece; she shared these stories with her illustrator and collaborated on how the visions can be brought to life.
Kee has been married for almost nine years and has four children- one daughter and three sons.
